An action square is a dare hidden in the board. Pick the 200 in Food & Drink and instead of a clue, the TV flashes and someone is whistling after a dry cracker. It's what turns a quiz into a party.
What is an action square?
An action square is a tile on a quiz board that holds a physical challenge instead of a question. It looks like every other tile until someone picks it; then the TV flashes an alert, shows the dare, and you award the points to whoever wins it.
The board demo has several — a stroopwafel you have to eat without hands, a blind taste test, soundtrack charades.
WRITING DARES
A title, an instruction, and a winner
Each action square has a short title and an instruction that appears on the TV. Keep it doable in a living room, fair to every team and quick to judge.
Stuck for ideas? The generator suggests dares that need no equipment and make no mess, and can give you three alternatives for any square.

Questions about action squares
How many action squares should a board have?
Two or three per board is plenty — enough that any tile might be one, not so many that the quiz becomes a game of charades. The generator puts at least two on every board it writes.
How are action squares scored?
You decide — usually the tile's value — and award the points to whoever wins the challenge with the + and − buttons.
Can I have action squares in a pub quiz?
They're a board feature. A pub-quiz round is read out and written down, so a dare doesn't fit the flow.
